What started as an idea grew into a successful family business. Dorinda Vance, founder of Dorinda’s Chocolates, started by hand-making chocolate-dipped cherries when she was a young girl and formed her business with her sons years later. Her debut delicacy was the Salted Caramel Chocolate Delight which she offered at a trade show, surrounded by some of the best chocolatiers, and Dorinda won the award for Best, Most Original Flavor for her chocolate!
She then went on to found Dorinda’s Chocolates in 2009 with it’s first location in Truckee, CA, expanding to Reno, NV and North Lake Tahoe. Dorinda’s Chocolates also offers domestic shipping options, so chocolate lovers can enjoy her company’s creations from wherever they reside. Family is the foundation of the business, along with a passionate team who share a love of sweets and striving for perfection in the quality of every confectionery piece that is made for Dorinda’s Chocolates.
Our Chocolate Factory is on Wells Avenue in Reno, Nevada, and our store has locations on Riverside Drive and Rancharrah Parkway in Reno, where you can stop by to watch award-winning artisan chocolate in the making!

Each month, our team hand-picks a classic, signature, or brand new piece from our collection to reflect the season and holidays during that month. Our Chocolate of the Month for October is the Pumpkin Truffle, made with real pumpkin and white chocolate pumpkin ganache, encased in a thin milk chocolate shell. It’s award-winning, topped with bright orange pumpkin drizzle, and perfect for the Autumn / Fall season and the spooky month of October!
In addition to the Pumpkin Truffle, we hand select other chocolates, and we always include a 6 piece box of our award-winning Sea Salt Caramel Chocolates with each delivery of the Chocolate of the Month Club featured piece. Your curated package is always shipped out to you by the 15th of the month and will be ice-packed if it’s still warm outside where you are, so you don't have to worry about melting!
